What is CPD?

Here at Method Studio Architects we are incredibly supportive of our staff continually improving their knowledge base. Method Studio encourage Continued Professional Development (CPD) in a number of ways, so these are suited to each staff member. The information we learn and skills we develop help our clients in a variety of ways. Have a look below for a short breakdown of how we continue to offer our clients the most up to date information through our continued learning:

Continued Professional Development

As in most professions, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) allow our team to enhance personal proficiency in a wide variety of areas. These include learning new technologies and alternative techniques within the architectural industry. This continuous development is a vital part within our teams career requirements. It is a requirement that we undertake a minimum amount of hours each year of professional development in order to retain our status as an architectural practice. The benefits of keeping up to date regularly within our fields ever changing information is a no brainer: it helps our team stay competent, capable, and resilient as designers and architects. It also helps us communicate and think of alternative solutions to design challenges and helps us achieve a better outcome for our clients. As our industry is multifaceted and constantly changing we love keeping our finger on the pulse of all new advancements in our industry. Work Placements

Experience is key for young aspiring architects and students going into the field of architecture. At Method Studio we encourage those looking to work in any field related to our profession to get involved as early as possible. Whether interested in surveying, engineering, design… etc. (the list goes on!) an architectural practice is involved in each of these. At Method Studio we have supported multiple students over the years. Currently we have a local college student of Construction and the Built Environment who has joined our team for the foreseeable future. He is lively, engaged and eager to shadow our experienced architects and designers. We enjoy having a young perspective in the office and look forward to seeing him grow into a competent and creative designer!

Apprenticeships

Another way to gain a qualification in architecture, earn money and simultaneously get experience is to sign up for an apprenticeship! An apprenticeship is a great pathway into the competitive, creative, and challenging industry of architecture. At Method Studio we currently have two team members at different stages of their apprenticeship. Both have regular catchup meetings to discuss their progress and are looking forward to the adventure ahead.

Apprenticeships combine the best parts of both practical experience with academic training from a university. You need to balance working in an office with studying several hours a week to complete assignments from your university. To find our more about how apprenticeships work please see this LINK.

Regardless of what level you are at, Method Studio is a supportive environment helping our young people excel in their professional lives. We work well together to keep our skills fresh and strive towards a higher education. All the while having fun doing it together! If you have any questions please get in touch with our team today.
